“Barb, I had to write to tell you how much we love the photos of
Stephanie’s senior pictures. You captured the special time in her life
and I look forward to working with you for other special events!”
Before your high school senior photo session, check these tips out!
What to Wear
It is important to bring multiple outfits for your session – a selection of casual and formal is best. Choose clothing that makes you feel comfortable and reflects who you are. Also, avoid outfits with test or large prints, stripes, and busy patterns – these create distractions from you. Most importantly, make sure your chosen outfits fit correctly. Girls, if you are wearing heels, be sure to bring a pair of flat shoes you can walk around in. Be creative, but be yourself!
While photos can be retouched, it is crucial to keep in mind a few details. Avoid tan lines and sun burns (do not over-tan!). Girls, keep makeup simple and make sure that if your nails are polished, the polish is not chipped. Lipgloss is also good to have, but clear or with minimal color is fine.
It is best to keep jewelry and accessories simple and minimal. Make sure to bring the appropriate jewelry for each outfit.
You can choose to bring props which help show part of your life and personality. You can bring items such as hats, musical instruments, sports uniforms, hobby items, and cars. If you wish to have a pet in your portrait session, please let us know in advance.
If you are getting a haircut before your session, make sure it is scheduled at least a week before. Guys, it is important to be freshly shaven!
